Kemi Badenoch changes social class after working in McDonalds for the summer!

Really?

Class is a thing we have here in the UK, apologies to anyone from abroad who perhaps thinks it is just some quaint British thing and that, in reality, we all have had tea with the King at some point.

Now, this politician has stated that, although she was raised by middle class parents, had all the privileges of that, which she at no time lost such as being, you know, wealthy, that a stint in McDonalds turned her into a working class person so she totally gets it, understands the real working class people of this country.

I'd be interested in what you think but, to me, this is a huge, oh no you don't!

Working class, which was promoted some time ago from 'lower' class, is not a lifestyle choice. It is a heritage. A swathe of the population who understand when times are tough, we're all suffering and very often, have no bale out option. As the saying goes, one paycheck from bankruptcy.

Middle class are all those who totally have never experienced any real hardship in their life. They get mildly miffed when they have to drop down to perhaps only 3 holidays abroad in a year. When times get tough, they ask mummy or daddy to sort things out else they sell off some shares from their portfolio or, indeed, cut staff in the companies their parents helped them to set up to increase profits and don't make a pay rise in April for the same reason.

Upper class don't have to bother themselves with either of the two above. The Working class do all the work they need doing too dirty for the middle class who manage the estates and wealth of the upper class. The only time the upper class think about money is when someone so much as suggests they actually personally, have to pay for something.

The mistake often made is that a person can traverse this classes, we cannot. Family and heritage dictates which class we are in. The middle class, at best, are tolerated by the upper class, doesn't matter how much money they have, they are not one of them. The middle class tolerate the working class as that is where they make their money.

The working class aspire to be the middle class, never understanding that because they don't aspire to be the upper class, there will remain a difference between them and the middle class who do aspire to be the upper class.

At best, we can only move freely between the classes by acting. Get the accent right, create mystery around where the money comes from and, for some time, anyone can wander around in another class from the bottom. However, the middle class, because the detachment is so great, cannot ever truly fool the working class that they are one of them, why? Because the middle class do not aspire to be the working class whereas, the working class do aspire to be the middle class. The middle class make the effort to try and fit in whereas the middle classes merely feel they have the right to be accepted because, people just do not say no to them.

This leaves the upper class who just do not care, they only have that they live in the same country as the other two classes and, emphasise on living here, they do not keep their wealth here, that's off in some tax haven somewhere, they have a team of accountants ensuring they pay as little tax as possible. Indeed, this may be the only thing they have in common with the middle class!

So, no Kemi Badenoch, you are not now, never were and will never be working class, it is insulting to feel you have the right to choose.

Whilst we are talking about Kemi Badenoch, where does she get off being so racist? I do not care what country her parents or grandparents came from, in the UK we should all respect each other equally and, perhaps it is your racist views which firmly places you in the middle class @KemiBadenoch
